Kevin Shea Consulting - A Professional Overview
I have been working professionally in the Internet industry since 1994. While I am able to provide professional services throughout the world, I primarily support clients located in the New York City and Northern/Central New Jersey areas. Here are a few highlights of my experience:
- Internet Marketing: Responsible for developing and deploying strategic, integrated digital marketing programs, including small to large (multi-million dollar) paid search, display, lead generation, social, mobile and email marketing campaigns for diverse types of businesses. My experience with managing small and large budget paid marketing campaigns is both detailed (hands-on) and leadership.
- Analytics and Metrics: Managed the web (digital) usage analytics for numerous consumer-based and B2B web properties since 1997. In the old days we would analyze raw log files, but now we use applications like Google Analytics, Omniture and Coremetrics, each of which are best applied in different circumstances. In addition, marketing automation tools like Eloqua and Marketo are giving businesses new advantages in the lead management space. My broad experience in analytics (and digital marketing) gives me the ability to analyize online behavior holistically, which is critical in an ever changing digital world.
- Management & Leadership: Developed, managed and motivated both large and small, diverse, cross-functional teams in business operations and technology. I have lead the development of numerous complex web applications that required the management and teamwork from groups in technology and business. In most cases, managing integrated initiatives required the collaboration of external resources, including agencies and other independent consultants.
- Senior Level Responsibility: Responsible for P&L's exceeding $10MM annually, managed teams of 50+, reported directly to Executive Level Management and represented my business units in Board Meetings. This experience me helps me understand and effectively communicate with executives regarding their digital needs.
- Special Search Engine Knowledge: Held leadership roles in the development of several search engines focused on both unstructured (web) and structured (news, business data, social content) data. Being involved in the technology design and development of different types of search engines enhances my knowledge of how to best optimize websites for SEO. I have leveraged this knowledge to optimize numerous consumer and B2B websites for organic search optimization.
- International Experience: From 2006 - 2008, I was responsible for Accoona China's business operations in Shanghai. This experience has given me valuable insight into how foreign internet-based enterprises conduct business and maintain a local presence in mainland China. In addition, I have developed strong connections and can build trusted teams there within a short period of time.
- Company Successes: During my 15 year career working for internet-based groups, two companies I worked with successfully executed IPO's (IntraLinks, theglobe.com) and two were acquired by publicly traded companies (Afternic, Planet Access Networks).
